10 Things To Think About Your Business
If you are tired of thinking outside the box ? I have always wondered what was so wrong with “the box” anyway. Sometimes we are so busy thinking outside the box for our blogging content we forget to just THINK ! It is fine to think about creating your business model, however when your business is running the thinking should not stop.
When creating the business model before starting the business ,there are three things to think about.
- What demand are you creating ? I did not say filling, I said creating.
- Who needs what you offer ? If it’s only your family, then you can as well stop there.
- Who is going to call you to buy ? Not who is your market but who is going to pick up the phone to call you. Someone picking up the phone shows that there is a need not just demand. Demand can die but need stays.
I spend about 15 minutes everyday when I wake up thinking on how to improve and try to follow the methods outlined in thinking like a genius. I have 10 things that I think about my business.
1. How does My Customer Profit From Using My Product ?
The human being is inherently selfish. If the client can not profit from what you are offering, he will give it a pass or postpone his decisions. If you are designing WordPress themes that are not making the webmaster any money, he will probably change to another design . The profit need not be monetary, I feel good when I read The Onion.
If your client can not find any profit, not use, from your product, be it a web site, shoe or twinkies he won’t buy.
2. How to I Find New Customers ?
For most in the internet business, this involves trying to get more traffic to your site.There have been books about this but you can try these methods to get more traffic to your site.
I was talking about customers not traffic. Assume traffic are those people who are window shopping. You need to grab their attention for them to enter your shop to buy whatever you are selling.
3. How can I become a better presenter ?
I would never buy anything from a bum. Great presentation is very important in any business. I think that is the reason so many bloggers are now going to original designs.
Presentation should include how you look ( web design), how you talk (your content) , do you understand your product, and can you really make the client believe that you have their best interests at heart.
All Internet marketers are salesmen and our presentation is important.
4. How will I Invest My Time Today ?
Managing time is probably the hardest thing one can do. We all have 1 million things to do today but only 24 hours to do it. I have noticed that one thing that separates the successful bloggers from the rest is the time spent on their sites. It is easy to know a blog where quality time is being spent.
- Quantity of Product -The biggest sites have new content per minute eg BBC, yahoo etc. That lays to waste the idea that posting one article a day is optimum. If you wish to make a million then, figure out ways to increase your content to those numbers.
- Quality of Product - Since most of us can not compete with quantity like Walmart, then we should stick to quality. I believe in quality more than quantity. I would rather have 10 comments per article than 0 comments on an article after posting 2 articles a day.
- Quality and Quantity of Product - That is nirvana for any business. Who would not love to own BMW ?
Trying to figure out how much time I should put in the research of content, production of the content and then the amount of content to put out is difficult . Then add the marketing of the content in terms of traffic sources and then converting the clients to loyal readers is worth more than 15 minutes a day.
In order to keep up with the quality of this article, I will have to continue with it on another day. What do you think about when you are doing your Internet business?
