Auction Ads Trial

Today is day 3 of the blog and decided not to start with google adwords yet. Instead I decided to go the auction ads route as the first monetising project on this blog. Choosing auction ads was a simple reason above google adsence for the time being. One of the most obvious reasons is that it will take time for this blog to be accepted by google so in the meantime I might as well test something else on the blog.

Auction ads were started by Jeremy “Shoemoney” Schomaker and the last time they posted that they had over 17,000 + members in only 3 months. You can add me as number over 17,001 + .

Some of the reasons I like it is

1. Very easy to implement. All you do is sign up for an Auction Ads account, get your code and input it on your website and you are up and running with ads relevant to you from ebay.

For those using wordpress techtites have a great article on how to implement contextual auction ads with the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin making them relevant to your content.

2. Make money from Ebay’s tiered payout structure. It is rather profitable as ebay can give you upto 60% of what they get paid for their auctions.

3. Accepts international webmasters who might otherwise never qualify for ebay affiliate program or even google adsense.

4. It does look better than google ads and it’s more clickable as even if your site members may come in every day, the ads being served might one day make them contemplate to get something from ebay in an auction. I have actually found myself doing it lately. Though I’ve never won, at least I tried.

All in all I know this will be a great addition to the site and I will be giving you a run down on how they do on this site as well as how other webmasters think about it on the net.
