Top Factors For Your Online Business to be a Success

One of the biggest problems new blogs like me face online is forgetting that even though we might like blogging, it really does not put food on the table just to write about the things that you like most about. I have seen some blogs claiming that they hate blogs that advertise but you would be surprised to see all sorts of banners and affiliate programs on their blogs.Anyone who says that they do something to make others feel better and for no monetary gain should be a Buddhist monk.

For the rest of us who accept that sooner or later we shall be trying to earn an income from our online activities, let us not forget that online business is just like any other brick and mortar business and a few rules should be followed.

1. Make sure you have extra money put away.

Even when you’re starting an online business, there are many financial risks involved. There are always surprise bills at the beginning of each month, and also other expenses that you neglected to think about during the planning phase of your online business.

Whenever you start a business, no matter if it’s in a storefront or on cyberspace, you will want to have extra money stored up just in case you spend over your allowed budget or if there is an unexpected expense. The last thing you want to do is never find out that your business could make it because you did not have enough money to cover unexpected bills. Continue reading this post…

If you have a blog, it’s safe to say you like to write. You may have a lot of people who visit your blog because they like to read your perspective on things, learn about things that your blog is focused on or even just enjoy your sense of humor. Your readership may be growing and your writing skills may be improving. You may have even wondered if there was any way you could make some money writing.

If you enjoy writing, a great way to make money at it is to join a site like Associated Content . At Associated Content you can sign up to be what is called a Content Producer for free.

Once you become a Content Producer you can submit articles on just about any subject. Now, here’s where the money comes in. If your article is approved, Associated Content will offer to pay you for it. This is usually just a few dollars, but if you enjoy writing and submit often, this can add up quite quickly.

You can submit content that you have previously published on your blog by submitting it to Associated Content as non-exclusive. They also require that wherever it is published you include a byline that matches your real name or your username on your Associated Content account. Continue reading this post…

Create Your Own Google

After the recent issues with google pagerank dropping for some famous websites like problogger and John Chow, I have decided to go another route in the long run with my own blog. I read alternate theory for Google Page Rank and though I know very little about seo marketing I have to agree that some of the points that Courtneytuttle has seem valid .

However I am of the mindset of by allowing someone else to dictate how you will be a success in life, you are still working for someone else and in the long run, it makes no sense at all. I do believe that blogging is like any other business and one should never rely on only one source of income especially with this willy nillly drop or raise in page rank that is making many a webmaster go nuts.

Using Adsense on Your Blog

A popular way to earn money through your blog is through advertisements. One of the most popular ad programs available today is Adsense. Adsense is provided by Google.

Using Adsense is very easy. Adsense automatically matches advertisements with the content of your blog. For example, if your blog is focused on gardening, most of the ads will be for gardening-related sites and products. Because of this very focused, site-relavant advertising system, your readers are much more likely to click on an ad that they see on your blog, unlike older systems that just put up vague and general ads.

There is no charge to sign up for Adsense. You just need to apply. Once your application is approved, you will get the code to put on your site. Google also has a great help area for Adsense which gives you step-by-step instructions on how to set everything up. Continue reading this post…

Auction Ads Trial

Today is day 3 of the blog and decided not to start with google adwords yet. Instead I decided to go the auction ads route as the first monetising project on this blog. Choosing auction ads was a simple reason above google adsence for the time being. One of the most obvious reasons is that it will take time for this blog to be accepted by google so in the meantime I might as well test something else on the blog.
