My Million Dollar Experiment

It’s now been 4 months since I started this blog but I have been blogging for fun for a little over a year. It’s been fun so far but it is time I started setting earning goals for my online projects. It is said that money is the root of all evil but it is obvious that untill another better way is found for people to calculate their success then we have to fall back on money rewards to see how well we are actually doing.

In that view, I have decided to follow the path taken by the million dollar experiment by Steve Pavlina. I shall use this blog to track my other blogs and set up the goals that are needed to get to where I wish to go .

Earn a Million Dollars Blogging

Of course I would love to earn a million dollars blogging but that figure to me is just like a number that though looks good on paper , does not really move me.So instead I am going to start with a simple goal that I can understand first then move on to the million dollar blog goal. My first blog goal is simple.

1. Earn $ 100 a day blogging for 3 straight months. - Why 3 straight months? If I can earn that for 3 months I can be able to convince anyone that it is time I quit my day job.

2. Make My Way to Success among the best viewed blogs online.

Easy goal to track I shall use the following metrics

1. Improve my current Alexa rank from 1,368,397 and 0 links to over 250,000 and 50 links by December 30th 2008

2. Increase my feedburner subscriptions from 0 to 100 by December 30th 2008

3. Increase Technorati rank from the current 0 to1 to 80 by December 30th 2008

3. Learn How to Manage and Create Websites

Now this one is more challenging as I know nothing about setting up websites or even php. What I have done so far has been very difficult to learn anyway but so far so good. How do I measure this goal?

I will be writting at least 1 article a week about how to set up websites from php, to wordpress, to joomla and even learn a bit of dreamweave and photoshop. One of the best way to learn something is to write about it and teach others so every time I learn something new about managing websites, I shall post here. After 52 weeks which is one year, I will be able to say that I am no longer web design challenged.

That’s it for my goals with Mywaytosucess. I hope I meet many new friends and hopefully I can convince you to be a mywaytosucess.com feed subscriber.
