Shareasale Affiliate Network
Like I had said before about being non-reliant from the very first days of this blog on google, I am going to stick to the plan of from day 1 creating my own google. It is not because I am following the google bashing freight train it’s because it only makes good sense to do so now when my web traffic is not consistent rather than 2 years down the road be at the mercy of google.
I had joined one affiliate network sometime back and it’s shareasale affiliate network. Shareasale was started in 2000 and over the next few years under Brian Littleton has earned a few awards including the first Fair Practice Award in 2006 and in 2007 was awarded the Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Award for Affiliate Marketing Advocate. In November 2006 ,shareasale held it’s first affiliate think tank and it was a great success for those who attended and I can only hope that this year there will be another one.
Shareasale is great for both affiliates and merchants
For the affiliates, you have a choice of over 2000 merchants who are in all niches.Mine is finance but having decided to work harder to promote my affiliate business, I have decided to start including more merchants .The affiliate has the a myriad of options and ways to promote
1.Using your web traffic - using banners and text links
2. Using email newsletters .Some of shareasale merchants have their own newsletters which you can also use.
3. Using shareasales’ unique ‘make a page’ feature .Very effective marketing tool that is very search engine friendly indexed mini sites.
4. You can also " create custom link to a page"
5. Easy affiliate tracking, you can track exactly how many hits and where they came from easily from the user interface that’s the easiest to use with any affiliate program.
6. Use datafeeds from some merchants who allow you to post their widgets on your website.
For shareasale merchants ,the set up is just as easy and you only pay when it works for you . By using performance marketing you decide what commission structure to pay and only pay when the shareasale affiliate has performed. You can decide to setup your program to pay a percentage of the sale (pay -per sale), pay per lead and even pay per click.
For me shareasale has been much better than google adsence since I started on this online income journey. This is probably because my websites are still new and the traffic brought in just is not something I can speak much off ,yet. However shareasale has worked like a charm for me and their customer service has been just dandy for me. I would really recommend anyone who is interested in affilliate marketing to join share a sale .It is a great program.
